Tyler
I honestly don’t know where to start. I hope and pray that no one ever has to experience what we have in the past month or so. First hearing your child has cancer is every parents worst nightmare. At first I didn’t think I could do any of this. After a pep talk from my mom who has always been there for me no matter what and the strongest lady I know. After talking with some of my best friends Wendy, Courtenay and Sarah. And then losing it on the phone with Elizabeth who’s another one of my best friends and also just happens to be my boss. Shortly after these conversations something in me clicked and I said yes I can do this because Tyler needs me more than ever. There is definitely truth is the saying you never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Of course watching him get blood, chemo, and everything else imaginable pumped into his body has made me nauseous a number of times. Not so with Tyler. He has had no major side effects from his treatment so far and has never complained once. He has also kept his sense of humor which has helped Brian and I tremendously. He truly is my hero and a great example of what being brave is.

We can’t even begin to thank all our family and friends enough for all the calls, texts, cards, gifts and most of all the love and prayers. I know some of you gave at a bad time with the holidays and all but you did it anyway. We appreciate everything from the bottom of our hearts. We are beyond blessed to have such a wonderful family and good friends.

Special thanks to G&J and all my Pepsi coworkers for their generosity and for being understanding at this difficult time. It definitely is the best place to work with awesome and caring employees. I truly love my Pepsi family!

We also want to thank our Bobcat community for everything they have done. It is so good to live in such a great place. Neither Brian or I grew up in the “Furnace” but definitely feel a part of the Bobcat family. Many thanks to the teachers, students and parents at Green School. Huge shout out to Jodi Armstrong and Bill Ison for going above and beyond. We are truly blessed to call each and everyone of you our friends and neighbors!

To Landon, Brody, Blake, Lewy and Quincy. Thank you so much for being there for Tyler and being such good friends. I love you boys like you were my own.

Thanks to the doctors, nurses and everyone at Cincinnati Children’s for taking such good care of Tyler and us.  What a wonderful hospital!  Thanks also to SOMC.

Tyler still has a long road ahead of him. Many more treatments and lots of trips to Cincinnati but I know he will get through this and be stronger than ever because of it. I thank God he is in remission and hope and pray he stays that way.

Lastly I thank God for my husband Brian. You are my rock and I most certainly couldn’t go through this journey without you.
